Conference Information


Participation in the ESTD Conference 2017, which begins November 9, 2017, is limited to registered delegates.

Full registration includes the following:

  • Admission (Thursday 7pm - Saturday 4.15pm) to all workshops, paper sessions, symposia, poster sessions and plenaries.
  • Welcome Reception on Thursday, Nov. 9, 9.15pm
  • Daily coffee and tea networking breaks

Pre-conference workshops require extra registration.

All attendees are required to wear their name badges for admission to all conference-related educational and social events.

Message Board:

A notice board is located at the Medworld area for conference participants to leave written messages for each other. 


The specialist bookstore mybookstation.co.uk will offer books on trauma and dissociation at the conference. Please visit and order your books here.

Session Recordings:

Some sessions will be recorded and made available at a special fee at the conference by "Zeit für Bildung". Please visit their information desk at the conference.


Credits for the conference will be offered. Details will be published here as soon as possible.


Free internet access is offered to all conference participants. 

Use of WLAN is via text message login. The access code is valid for a maximum of three WLAN-compatible devices and for unlimited use during 7 consecutive days. After the first login, access is automatic.

Currently we do not know yet, if we will be able to offer lunch as part of the conference fee. This will depend mostly on the number of registrations to the conference and our financial possibilities.

If you wish to eat close to the conference venue:

Electricity and plugs:

Current throughout Switzerland is supplied at 230 volts. Type C (euro plug, two-pin) plugs and type J (three-pin) plugs are used. The type F ("Schuko") plugs widely used in Europe cannot be used without an adapter.

Medical Attention:

The number 144 is the emergency number for the ambulance service. It is to be used in a medical emergency only.

Outpatient medical emergencies
For medical emergencies which do not require hospital treatment, you may contact the "Hirslanden Medical Center" at the Main Train Station in Bern.

  • No appointment necessary.

There is a hospital with a 24h accident and emergency unit located just 500m from the conference venue

Note of caution:

Presentations on trauma and dissociation have the potential to be distressing to some conference attendees. Individuals are strongly encouraged to use prudent caution and judgment in deciding whether a given workshop is appropriate to attend, particularly in the case of those programs that offer an experiential component.
